Burnt
I hate this
Silently I sit
My mouth bound
By your lack of regard
Words I cannot bear to sound
When you are lifeless before I start
And I lay under your boughs
Fighting tears
Cursing your furrowed brow
My back turned
While a spark in my heart still flickers
A cigarette burn branded on my chest
With feelings unsure
Stirred as ghosts of you torture me with unrest
Your canopy has crashed
That used to shield me from the light
Here the haunted girl sits
Adorned in white
Through the stinging rain
Through the ghostly night
If a tree in a desolate forest falls
Will anyone hear when out he calls?
Speaking to something once teeming with life
Mot realizing what was once beautiful
Is dead inside
