Love Before We Got Old
Back before life took love away
When we were young
No bills to pay
Living at home
Going to school
Love would come inside
A note passed to you
Oh how the heart
Would start to race
As you would read
Every phrase
We would hold hands
Look into each others eyes
Never wanting to let go
For we thought
We would die
Talking on the phone
For hours it seemed
Most of the time
Just hearing each other breathe
Always giving our best
Trying to impress
Never thinking those feelings
Would ever die
Remembering those days
Makes me want to cry
Funny how love was so
Much better
Before we got old.
