Dear Annaji, End Your Fast Fast
So far so good, you’ve led the movement well!
’Tis time, you thought about your precious life;
A rigid attitude can’t hasten things;
Allow some natural time to get things done.
Getting tougher when people soften stands
Could complicate the problem you fight for;
Please end your fast before your health worsens;
All want a good man like you to live long!
Corruption has been happening for years;
The problem can’t be stalled by just one bill;
‘You’ve risked your life enough’; so, end your fast;
Your fasting more can’t speed up things from now.
Respect the Parliament and those in it;
They’ve promised you that they will do their best;
Good that you fought for such a noble cause;
India is proud of Anna Hazare.
A beginning is good for anything;
The bill can be made stronger in due course;
Stop your protests; recoup your health, Anna;
‘All well that ends well, ’ the saying goes.
You’ve kindled patriotic feelings in all;
You’ve raised a key issue – corruption;
India can’t stand corruption anymore;
The good work you have done, all Indians know.
Calm down; cool down, Anna Hazareji!
Too much of anything may worsen things;
Your health is wealth of India, you please know;
Bring down the tempo of your protests, Sir.
Give up your fast, allowing time for things;
Procedures take their course quite naturally;
Your half-won victory will bring full success;
We Indian brethren love you, Annaji!
You should not risk your life any longer;
The country needs you hale and hearty, please;
So, end your fast and thank God, Hazare;
Your bill will come through, vijay hamare!
Fondly dedicated to the author of Jan Lokpal Bill,
Sri. Kisan Baburav Anna Hazare!
