Shift In Thought
Cars racing above my head
Pills that hold a days worth of bread
Skyscrapers towering over us all
Societies no longer surrounded by walls
A utopia we used to see
A place that was very real to me
Was quickly replaced with something new
A completely different change of view
A wasteland covered in smoke and ash
The few who remain find reasons to clash
We return to our tribal ways
amongst the radioactive haze
A land I never want to see
A place that may one day be
Could quickly become reality
The proof of our races mortality
Will we watch from the moon
As we play a sad tune
Our planet as dead as Mars
While we drift among the stars
A land I can clearly see
A place that can still be
Can be protected by you and me
We just need to set it free
