St George of the Army
Thump of his stallion's hoofs on ground
identifies his blood beat with rhythm,
that overreaches him, a heavens pound,
crucifix set of norms, solved algorithm.
In mists emerges from winter darkness,
his stupefied image in becalmed fog,
a hefty figure gallops on steppe vastness,
steady going measure from hoofs' slog.
Unbendable through thousands of years,
traces amarths of the tenebrious force,
well-set Saint. fights badness in arrears,
an' slaughters monsters without remorse.
Righteousness derives from noble cause
instinctive battles are steadfast to orison
Protects fighting men to impose laws,
for their land's freedom against malison.
Asseverates to men prowess and valor,
to march with soldiers roster of fate;
To live in virile souls 'n' combat candor,
master in engagement as an armor plate.
