My People Have Suffered …
My People Have Suffered …
My people have suffered
Before dawn and throughout the thickness of the night.
My people have been conquered
And kidnapped by innuendoes and by fright.
My people have been exploited
Under the bright light of the moon.
My people have been humiliated
Under the hellish glare of the sun.
Who are my people? They are the rejected ones
Of this society: the physically weak siblings,
Who don’t enjoy winters and springs;
The sad ones who are always under the guns.
My people will truly wake up one day,
Under the gleeful eyes of darkness.
My people will indeed rise up one day.
My people will plant the seeds of fairness.
My people will spray the aroma of love
Everywhere.
My people will spread its wings like the dove
Flying in fresh air.
My people are beautiful inside and out.
My people are patient like the hypnotized tiger.
The struggle has not been easy, the last bout
Will be ferocious in front of Mother Nature.
My people are steadfast, they will never lose.
Strong and humiliated underdogs always win;
They always beat the odds and the fools.
True champions are always compassionate under the sun.
