A Poem On a Wholesome Mother

'If I service five clients, ' she said
With thorough professionalism
'My night is done
And my day is taken care of!
That breaks even
With my children properly fed! '
She went on telling me
How as a young girl
Much before puberty
She was forced into flesh trade
Not really knowing what it's about
She tried herself, in vain, and
She looked for someone
To rescue her once she knew
Where she's forced into
By and by, she understood
That's the only option she had
And the education her body imparted
Became her intellectual property right!
'This body, bestowed upon me
This body people called 'feminine'
Became their play field
And my bread'

She went on

'Keep your moral polemics
Confined to your lecture halls!
Ashamed? Why should I?
Are you ever ashamed
To look after your child?
Why should I? '

And she walked away
In sheer confidence
Swinging her hip,
Probably just as I do
When I walk, to take her children
To the independence day celebrations
