From Her Heart
From her heart
Where’s he?
He slept by me last night
By morning he disappeared!
They say he slipped away
Stealthily in the silence of night
Body and brain
Became numb seeing
The bed emptied forever
Where’s he?
I pleaded
The stars, the sky
They all looked away!
Where lies my future?
In the tiny hands?
In the empty corridors of the palace?
In the vast mountain ranges?
Everywhere emptiness
Echoed and re-echoed!
Was he frightened of me
That he had to leave without notice?
Ah, it’s not his going away
It’s his going away without
Bidding me farewell
I who blindly followed him
To live a lifetime till death...
That hurts!
That hurts!
Did he think I was frail?
The hurts
That hurts!
Who is he?
Who am I?
In the medley of confusion
I lost the cognizance of myself
They say he went away…
Did he walk out on me?
He may have wrapped the world
In his warmth to redeem it
From suffering and sorrow
Who redeems mine?
How could he assume
I wouldn’t support his mission?
I could have walked
In his determined steps
In all willingness…
Ah, men!
