Drunken Dancers
Their painted cheeks shone like dazzling suns...
their faces flushed and red.
Lustrous eyes flashing seductive glances,
one had seen herself in bed.
One had seen herself in darkness,
and another with some man.
One had seen herself so restless,
dancing on till all is gone.
They all but dance for hunger
of the flesh and of the soul.
They all but drank for courage
that tomorrow they'd forget it all.
