A Memory of Lost Love
Sometimes I see her in the street,
I never greet
Her and our eyes don't meet,
You'd never think
That once I held her in my arms,
I captured those elusive charms,
My hands were on her hips
And I kissed those tender lips!
Was it a dream?
It seems so long ago,
Another time, another place
That I caressed that face.
I wander to and fro
In futile loneliness
And the pains of loss increase
Each time the memories return
And I am left to dream and burn -
Bring back the past! !
The ecstasy was too intense, it could not last,
I must forget her now,
I must let go,
Will the suffering ever cease
And the wounded heart find peace?
