Depression's Impressions Variation of Monotony In Monochrome

Dusk dips down into darkness scarred
clouds backdropp moonless night,
day'd drips away, its greyness marred
by no hope glaring bright.

Time slips upon a wishing star
which blinks, then disappears,
trips out of touch, so far, too far,
and never re-appears.

Deep frozen tears suspend vain hope
on sable background dropp grim,
unconsciousness suspends pain's scope
choice sinks, control can't swim.

Depression seems to draw a blank
across whatever's screen,
enshrouds in clouds, wreathes thankless plank
from which steep dive is seen
to set scene tissue to ignore
all issues save but one
which saves not, grave schemes may implore,
cards stacked, play's distance run.

Monotony in monochrome
destests solutions clear
from fear they'd fail, prove fleeting foam
surf on beached dream once dear.

Drab uniformity of view
stretch etches second-thoughts,
half-hearted, damp, dank curlicue
around ground zero fraught.

Prospects, perceptions, shun relief,
take time to integrate,
energy fizzles out as grief
leaves too much on bare plate.

Regrets lethargic, half-convinced,
reflect teared protest pale,
all colour drained since thrice re-rinsed
through mangle's 'none prevail'.

Response half-hearted raises head
then turns the other cheek
upon some rumpled pillow bed,
forgetting how to speak.

Conclusions on time's washing line
flap uselessly forgotten,
hung after-taste lies wasted whine
all ends in feeling rotten.
