Archaea
Our first grandparents still remain
Microorganisms in hot springs
Volcanic welfare Extremophiles
Housed in thermophalic Bog vistas
They've survived the rise of Eukaryotes
When all relation ties were horizontal
Watching the world grow more complex
From trilobites to Pyrenean ibexes
In five extinctions they have remained
Cream of the crop in scented methane
Reproducing nitrogen excrement
Filtered to rise of carbon descendents
Small in stature, grand in wisdom
With 3.8 billion years of lessons
If they could speak they'd laugh and say
"It's not the size where the fittest count"
All evolutions the chance of luck"
