Instead of Cursing You As Some Do
Let us bow now our heads and pray!
'Dear Father...
We know You did not choose for us,
To be the idiots we wish for You 'not' to see.
We know some of us have been imbeciles.
With an assortment of college degrees.
Qualifying an absence of a diminished sanity.
Dear Father...
Would You please,
Chase this ignorance from us.
And instead of cursing You as some do...
Let us help them help us,
Open our eyes!
To see the truth in view.
And Father...
While we have our heads bowed in prayer,
Is it too much for us to ask of You...
To remove the unused space between our ears.
Inviting opportunities to listen and hear.
And replace this thoughtless emptiness,
With a purpose You identify and make clear...
As a thinking process we become to endear.
And recognize to comprehend...
That You have given us to use,
To express less stupidity!
We find much too easy to indulge.
Welcoming nonsense to excuse this abuse.
We ask this of You, Dear Father...
Since many of us,
Are showing signs we enjoy being 'nuts'!
And imitating fools.
Something we wish for You not to see us do,
With such abandonment.
Ahhhmen! '
