We Are Apart
I know it has been six months since we went our separate way,
but I heard from someone that you were hurting the other day.
I immediately opened my arms to embrace you and take away your pain.
I wanted to run to you and give you a shoulder to cry on.
I saw myself picking you up as you fell in anguish.
After I heard all I wanted to do was be there for you.
Wow, all the things I couldn’t do when we were together;
I want to do for you now that we are apart.
