Locked Mask
I'm a tough nut to crack,
A book that's always bound.
Though tears keep flowing down my cheeks,
from me, hear not a sound.
Hidden from view,
In darkness all alone.
Frozen is the kingdom I built,
my heart now turned to stone.
Bitterness is what you see,
for weakness I would show.
For if I had let you seen
what's hidden beneath the snow.
Bottled and thrown,
into a vast empty sea.
Only the masks hide my tears.
The emptiness that fills me.
A collection of all my fears,
this black gallery has become.
Rejections from the game of life,
the battles I never won.
