Until That Day
War visits
too many places
traces blood markings
upon too many generations
War arrives
as old men decide
just where and when
to send young men to die
War leaves
too many faces
wearing traces of scars
which worm their way inward
then persist to endure as long as men live
because old men required young men should give
greater share than their bodies and minds had to spare
War will persist
as long as old men insist
So will war visit, again and again
Till the day young men decide it must end
and turn their guns instead - on those old men
