A Morning Poem
I greet the morning air
with half sleep filled eyes
the damp of morning dew
taken in with each breath
slowly light breaks through
waking me fully into the day
thoughts stir I remain unmoved
greeting the morning air
I look to the streets ahead
to the journey I must make
I say a quiet prayer
to the spirit of the poets
heart, mind and soul
let this day not fall
