Blue
…Something in her eyes said
…Something in her smile did
And that something is ever new each day
Bluer and bluer as one kisses daybreak
Jaded or not, I'd be kept hidden
Beneath your wings
If so desired, lest I'll burn to ashes
Or be grilled by a thousand scorching eyes
The bluer I get, the higher I climb
To that missing ladder
As I inch my way to the pinnacle of your desire
Spent, satiated in the emissaries of life
