Archaeology
Paths
Winding their way
stop short at cave openings.
Words
Written on plaques
Bear witness to the unseen past
Crying themselves hoarse
In deserted towns
Crazy-like strike against the walls.
Far far away
Beyond the rim of lost civilizations
Silence suddenly rebounds
And reverberates.
