Every Inch A Man
For as I look,
Or as you stand,
I know that you are,
Every inch a man.
Though short in stature
And low in strength
I know that you are
By what good deed's meant.
For a Man is short,
Or a Man is tall,
And a Man is a Man,
By what I recall.
For a Man can be young
Or a Man can be old
For a Man is a Man,
By what I've been told.
And as these words were softly spoke,
While letting go of Her trembling Hand
I knew at last, what She had known,
That Her Son, was every inch a Man.
