I'm Back My Love
Your calls I hear, muted by stifled tears,
Whispered as soft as rain, that leaves retain,
And now that Fate favors, our luck appears,
Shall I stay, and bring happy days again?
If once, you’ve moaned by firesides all alone,
Might I show this time, not a heart of stone?
Many a moonlit night have seen your plight,
No loving arms to hold as dreams unfold,
It served me right, in having trained my sight,
On bronze of world, when here with you is gold,
I’m back today, with all our dignity,
To claim our share of love’s eternity;
I’ll gaze into your eyes for yonder skies,
And scale Heaven’s bliss, warmed by your sweet kiss,
If not, I’ll glide with smiles, the way bird flies,
To fetch happiness, all our hearts can wish;
Our song can’t stop, as guitar chords I pluck,
Now that love, I’m back to resume our luck.
