Daisy's Delusion
Daisy was a flower girl
Kept her hair in ringlets
Wore a set of pearls
And her favorite pair of shoes
Were pink and blues
Her dress was the finest cotton
And her parents spoiled her rotten
Leaving photographs on show
She signed her autograph for unsuspecting strangers
In the street she flashed a smile
And waved 'a regal wave '
To everyone she'd meet
Her favourite phrase was
'One is not amused'
She shared her point of views
With Queen Victoria
And travelled in a taxi
Never train or bus
And when it rained she made a fuss
She liked an entourage to follow her in hot pursuit
And keep her stocked up on her favourite sweets
And some exotic fruit
And when it came to men
She liked 'gentlemen in three piece pin striped suits'
To hairy chested half wit brutes
[although she mused in secret that Attilah could be fun]
Daisy played a lot and never went to school
She said it was impossible for someone of her class
To bend and bow to man made rules
And so regarding education there was some confusion
And this is only part of Daisy's sad delusion
Though Daisy kept her little girl inside
She was an old lady of nearly eighty five
With dusty photographs
Of dead parents long gone
And one bright eyed soldier whose hero's smile lives on,
At at the altar, where he left her as his bride
To go to war,
Never returning to her side,
Til Daisy died, and was no more.
