Why
Tonight the earth will arrive like a gift
I promised I would send it by parcel force
You will hear that little clod on the carpet
As it falls through the slit in the door
Where I have been standing for so long
Waiting to be let in
Unlucky so many times before!
Will you sign on the dotted line?
Feel the earth in the palm of your hand
'Why? ' you may ask
because I promised you the earth,
And I did,
Hold my heart in the palm of your hands
Only then can I breathe, can I live!
