At the height of
the blossoming
Of this love
You bring in
The body blows
of the career lows
Of our romance
Ungrateful you are
After all I have
done for you
After all you
have done for me
After all the pain
that life has
inflicted on us
After the mountains
Of hardships
we have had to climb
You throw it all
away for the
Pleasures that are
Bound to bounce
on you
You say you are
now making yourself
Permanently scarce
Out of my dull
Uneventful life
You say you
are living me
Unhappily I rise
wearily to your
Satisfaction
To sign The Act
Of Abdication
To release myself
from the slave
Chains of your
one sided love
The plain life
of the ascetic of
The streets and
the slums is for me
The glitz of the
Bling of the glittering
glitterati out of
my life I disown
No more for me
The misadventures
of the annoying
gadabout
No more for me
The wastefulness of the
greed of the shockingly
expensive wine and food
Out are the mad
all night parties
Out are the snazzy
suits and the serial
girlfriends
And the sleek cars and
The hotels of sleaze
In is the bread
buttered with thick jam
In is the bitter coffee
mixed with tar
In are the prison
overalls and the quiet
contemplative life
In meditation away
From the bright
lights and the
Unhappiness of your
sick smash and desperately
grab all materialistic
greed driven discontent
