Another Year Has Gone By
Today’s pleasures have no motion
Life’s delights are lacking emotion
The air is still…there is no flow
Each minute of time awkwardly slows
I have no appetite for my favorite food
Emptiness invades my uncertain mood
Performances that entertained now bore
A silent presence opens a closed door
Three years ago, on this date…time stopped
The paralyzing pain I felt cannot be forgot
Today’s the anniversary of the day he died
A rush of memories… both good and bad collide
Repressed thoughts surface…in black and white
The sun gives light… but it seems like night
A shadow follows me as I continue on my way
Gradually darkness fades…tomorrow is a new day
