Coming Home April
Cold dark rain
Upon my face erase the tears
A biting wind whips
And blows away my fears
The lightning strikes
But I keep forging on
Cracking thunder seethes
But I don’t hear a sound
The shadows fall as
Darkness conquers everything
But I walk on and keep
Remembering
April’s song playing in my mind
Guided by a sliver of moonlight
Soon I know the moon will lose the fight
But April’s song will carry me
through the night
Or maybe not, the storm may take its toll
But I don’t care
To April I belong
