Hardest to Forgive
My heart wants a metaphor
Loud and wide
And limitless
A long river of confidence
(A virtuoso of love)
To ride inside you.
And through you
As it fills through me.
Changing me.
A beautiful metaphor
Locked inside my skin.
My blood swirls for you
Deep into the stems and limbs
Of frozen grammar.
My grammar unhinged
From my intellect and calm
The basest form I cover
Quietly.
My heart speaks for you.
How she recites into the deepest hours
The laws and penalties of your charm.
My lips fastened shut
Swollen with everything
When I touch you
So to not shame the measure
Of our company
With the speech
Hardest to forgive.
