The Song Remains the Same
You have morphed into a guitar
You’ve been transformed into musical notes
You have become
a plaintive song in my heart
That was all you were
That is all you are
That is all you'll ever be
I have said goodbye
I've thrown water to the fire
But still... the guitar weeps
Still... the silenced heart beats
