What Today Brings
In the dawning of the day
With my coffee in hand and
My son at play
I glance at the neatly laid trees
Still after mornings breeze
What will my day be like
After rains jar my senses and
The lightning strikes
Calm laying down the puddles
And child climbing up to cuddle
Dishes washed brings hope
Same with an early stable routine
For me to cope
Steps begin with our usual waking
Java lightens chaos in the making
Still stands my question
What will the day have in store
During its session
Each turn keeps shifting forward
All the answers that I move toward
