Child of God

When darkest sins stole all my joy,
and I was left to rot alone,
in wicked thoughts that all destroy,
in desperate cry and endless groan,

surrounded by former deceives,
when all my friends had gone for good,
I lived my life among the thieves,
unloved and lost, misunderstood,

You came with grace and brought me peace,
You came with love, my life's renewed,
and suddenly my joy increased,
You filled my heart with gratitude.

I'm dreaming now of Heaven's shores,
New Child of God, forever Yours.
