Spero, che fai l'asino sul serio per un po'
E se fai il ballo dell'asino, io ci sto
Xch le tue parole, sembrino raggi di sole (oh)
E per ricordarti, di dimenticare
Do the donkey, donkey, tonkey

Ora, gi in citt, c' una blue crayola
di cioccolata ya e si chiama Lola
Xch i tuoi occhi adesso sembrino raggi di sole (oh)
Chiameremo felicit, la disperazione.

Listening to every Tom, Dick and Donkey

Come, we have a story, said the Old Man. Come, sit and I shall tell you all a little tale of a donkey, a boy and his father…and of strangers too…and many a busybody…
And the children sat round the campfire and the Old Man began his tale…

One day
(and this is many, many
uncountable days ago)
Father called Son
and he said:
‘Son
you are grown now
into a fine young lad
and you must learn
how to buy and sell
and make a profit

‘So, come let us go
you and I
to the market to see
what silver coins we can get
for this old donkey
in our shed’

2

And so Son and Dad
set out for the town market
across the sandy and rocky miles
and some way off
Dad grew tired and he said:

‘Ah, Son
this walk tires me and so
I shall ride the donkey
while you walk by the side;
so, come let us go
you and I
to the market to see
what silver coins we can get
for this old donkey
that I shall ride’

The Weight (feat. The Staple Singers)

(The Band)
I pulled in to Nazareth, was feeling 'bout half past dead
I just need some place where I can lay my head
''Hey mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?''
He just grinned and shook my hand, ''No'' was all he said
Take a load off, Fanny
Take a load for free
Take a load off, Fanny
And you put the load right on me
I picked up my bag, I went looking for a place to hide
When I saw Carmen and the Devil walking side by side
I said ''Hey Carmen, come on, let's go downtown''
She said ''I gotta go but my friend can stick around''
Take a load off, Fanny
Take a load for free
Take a load off, Fanny
And you put the load right on me
Go down Miss Moses, there's nothing you can say
It's just old Luke, and Luke's waiting on the judgement day
''Well, Luke my friend, what about young Anna-Lee?''
He said ''Do me a favour son, won't you stay and keep Anna-Lee
company?''
Take a load off, Fanny
Take a load for free
Take a load off, Fanny
And you put the load right on me
Crazy Chester followed me and he caught me in the fog
He said ''I will fix your rat if you'll take Jack my dog''
I said ''Wait a minute Chester, you know I'm a peaceful man''
He said ''That's okay boy, won't you feed him when you can?''
Take a load off, Fanny
Take a load for free
Take a load off, Fanny
And you put the load right on me
Catch a cannonball now to take me down the line
My bag is sinking low and I do believe it's time
To get back to Miss Fanny, you know she's the only one
Who sent me here with her regards for everyone
Take a load off, Fanny
Take a load for free
Take a load off, Fanny
And you put the load right on me

Heavy Load

Orbison/price
At times it seems too rough, things just drag me down
Its hard to find the strength to just one more round
When I need help, I know where to go
cos youre the best friend that I could ever know
Being taught the words from you .... from what is true
Someone to share the pain that Im going through
And its a heavy load that I bear and its a heavy crown that I wear
As I travel down this road, its a heavy load, its a heavy load
Its a heavy load that I bear and its a heavy crown that I wear
So help me one more time, its such an uphill climb
As I travel down this road, its a heavy load
Lord its a heavy load, lord its a heavy load, lord its a heavy load
Lord its a heavy load, lord its a heavy load....

Donkey, Dog and Master – a very gentle fable

Come, listen all -
listen to a very gentle fable
Of Donkey, Dog and Man
and the friendship
amongst these three

1
Donkey and Dog are loyal servants;
they’ve served the same master
all their lives

It’s night now and
Donkey and Dog sleep
in the courtyard
while Master
snores in the house

A thief sneaks in
through the gate
and donkey whispers
as gently as he can:
Hey, dog…There’s an intruder;
Why don’t you bark and let master know?

And the old Dog growls as
quietly as he can:
Why don’t you bray aloud
and raise the alarm?

Hey, but you’re the dog
and you’re man’s best friend,
Donkey whispers in the dark

Man’s best friend, eh?
says Dog.
But is man the dog’s best friend?
I’ve served the master for ages
and now that I’m old he neglects me
and is talking about taking another dog.
I bet he’ll have you skinned alive
when you’re dead!
To the dogs with him!
You bray if you like.

An Old Donkey For Sale

'A donkey for sale' the old man cried
And the crowd went to see the donkey.
It was as old as he - the crowd felt.
'An old donkey for sale ' the old man still cried-
But no new crowd was there to see it.

An odd man came enquiring all the way
'Where can I get an old donkey for myself? '
Then he heard the old man cry 'An old donkey for sale'
And the odd man rushed to him and his donkey.
But he said to the old man, ' The donkey isn`t really old'.

The old man and his donkey are still treading the paths,
The crowds still find the donkey and the man old alike.
The odd man never stops his search for an old donkey.
But a world never emerges at all -
That one can understand the diametrical human minds.

Medley: Rubber Bullets/silly Love Songs/life Is A Hinestrone

I went to a party at the local county jail
All the cons were dancing and the band began to wail
But the guys were indiscreet
They were brawling in the street
At the local dance at the local county jail
Well the band were playing
And the booze began to flow
But the sound came over on the police car radio
Down at precinct 49
Having a tear-gas of a time
Sergeant baker got a call from the governor of the county jail
Load up, load up, load up with rubber bullets
Load up, load up, load up with rubber bullets
I love to hear those convicts squeal
Its a shame these slugs aint real
But we cant have dancin at the local county jail
Sergeant baker and his men made a bee-line for the jail
And for miles around
You could hear the sirens wail
Theres a rumor goin round death row
That a fuse is gonna blow
At the local hop at the local county jail
Whatcha gonna do about it, whatcha gonna do
Whatcha gonna do about it, whatcha gonna do
Sergeant baker started talkin
With a bullhorn in his hand
He was cool, he was clear
He was always in command
He said blood will flow;
Here padre
Padre you talk to your boys...
Trust in me -
God will come to set you free
Well we dont understand
Why you called in the national guard
When uncle sam is the one
Who belongs in the exercise yard
We all got balls and brains
But somes got balls and chains
At the local dance at the local county jail
Load up, load up, load up with rubber bullets
Load up, load up, load up with rubber bullets
Is it really such a crime
For a guy to spend his time
At the local dance at the local county jail
At the local dance at the local county jail
Whatcha gonna do about it, whatcha gonna do
Whatcha gonna do about it, whatcha gonna do

Seasonable Retour-Knell

SEASONABLE RETOUR KNELL
Variations on a theme...
SEASONABLE ROUND ROBIN ROLE REVERSALS

Author notes

A mirrored Retourne may not only be read either from first line to last or from last to first as seen in the mirrors, but also by inverting the first and second phrase of each line, either rhyming AAAA or ABAB for each verse. thus the number of variations could be multiplied several times.- two variations on the theme have been included here but could have been extended as in SEASONABLE ROUND ROBIN ROLE REVERSALS robi03_0069_robi03_0000

In respect of SEASONABLE ROUND ROBIN ROLE REVERSALS
This composition has sought to explore linguistic potential. Notes and the initial version are placed before rather than after the poem.
Six variations on a theme have been selected out of a significant number of mathematical possibilities using THE SAME TEXT and a reverse mirror for each version. Mirrors repeat the seasons with the lines in reverse order.

For the second roll the first four syllables of each line are reversed, and sense is retained both in the normal order of seasons and the reversed order as well... The 3rd and 4th variations offer ABAB rhyme schemes retaining the original text. The 5th and 6th variations modify the text into rhyming couplets.

Given the linguistical structure of this symphonic composition the score could be read in inversing each and every line and each and every hemistitch. There are minor punctuation differences between versions.

One could probably attain sonnet status for each of the four seasons and through partioning in 3 groups of 4 syllables extend the possibilites ad vitam.

Soft-scented breeze, Days fair and long,
Spring warms life now. Summer sends cheer.

Each life must bow; And honeyed hives;
Our salad days Trees stripped of leaves,
Are ending now. Jack Frost has knives.

Pepe Pepeto

Pepe Pepeto was a littlr Mexican boy who lived on a farm
One day, he was collecting wood on the moutain side for use on the farm

He and his father heard a braying
It was a small donkey caught in a bush and braying

Pepe's father took the donkey out of the bush
And Pepe said to the donkey, 'Hush'

Pepe asked his father if he could have the donkey
Pepe's father said, 'Si, Pepe, you can have the donkey'

Pepe was so happy now with his donkey
He called the name 'Manuel' for his donkey

Heavy Metal Universe

We're the masters of the wind
We're demons left in howl
we're the undefeated warriors
we have heard the call

We're the keepers and the leaders
of the only thing we love
we're the saviours
and protectors from above

In your sky there is no limit
and masters we have none
heavy metal is the only one

'cause its heavy metal universe
an it's never going down
flying 'cross the universe
we're heavy metal bound
we're heavy metal bound

With a burning hot desire
like a supersonic blast
we have come to show the world
that we have come to last

There ain't no way to stop us
and you'll never kill our pride
'cause it's not only music
it's a chosen way of life

And our world has got no borders
and in union we all stand
'cause heavy metal is our promissed land

'cause it's a heavy metal universe
with a heavy metal sound
masters of the thunder
shake you to the ground

It's a heavy metal bomber
and it's never going down
flying 'cross the universe
we're heavy metal bound
we're heavy metal bound

See my hands held to the sky
let me rock you 'till forever
raise your voice we're soaring high
swear allegance now or never
burning up we build a flame

Hudibras: Part 1 - Canto III

THE ARGUMENT

The scatter'd rout return and rally,
Surround the place; the Knight does sally,
And is made pris'ner: Then they seize
Th' inchanted fort by storm; release
Crowdero, and put the Squire in's place;
I should have first said Hudibras.

Ah me! what perils do environ
The man that meddles with cold iron!
What plaguy mischiefs and mishaps
Do dog him still with after-claps!
For though dame Fortune seem to smile
And leer upon him for a while,
She'll after shew him, in the nick
Of all his glories, a dog-trick.
This any man may sing or say,
I' th' ditty call'd, What if a Day?
For HUDIBRAS, who thought h' had won
The field, as certain as a gun;
And having routed the whole troop,
With victory was cock a-hoop;
Thinking h' had done enough to purchase
Thanksgiving-day among the Churches,
Wherein his mettle, and brave worth,
Might be explain'd by Holder-forth,
And register'd, by fame eternal,
In deathless pages of diurnal;
Found in few minutes, to his cost,
He did but count without his host;
And that a turn-stile is more certain
Than, in events of war, dame Fortune.

For now the late faint-hearted rout,
O'erthrown, and scatter'd round about,
Chas'd by the horror of their fear
From bloody fray of Knight and Bear,
(All but the dogs, who, in pursuit
Of the Knight's victory, stood to't,
And most ignobly fought to get
The honour of his blood and sweat,)
Seeing the coast was free and clear
O' th' conquer'd and the conqueror,
Took heart again, and fac'd about,
As if they meant to stand it out:
For by this time the routed Bear,
Attack'd by th' enemy i' th' rear,
Finding their number grew too great
For him to make a safe retreat,

Dog In Sweden

Iggy says "I wanna be your dog."
But I want you to be a demigod
Look at my bow wow sitting there
Sniffing scratching without a care
Once upon a lifetime peroxide hair
What a heavy load to bear
What a heavy load to bear
Alcohol, drugs and rock n' roll
Come on doggy doggy let's go for a stroll
Before and after human growl so foul
And now animal and left to howl
A dog in Sweden, a man's best friend
Remember all those trends you set
And now you are a housewive's pet
Sit down bad boy, don't bow wow wow
Drink this milk from the sacred cow
Look at my bow wow sitting there
Sniffing scratching without a care
Once upon a lifetime peroxide hair
What a heavy load to bear
What a heavy load to bear
What no meat?
My bloodthirsty little bow wow
Hypnotised
Another family tree
Remember?
20th Century VIP
You may have been a king
You may have been a queen
You may have been Nehru
I'm sure there were a few smutty little scenes
Smutty little scenes
Hey doggy doggy, hey doggy doggy
Hey doggy doggy, hey hey hey
What a heavy load to bear
What a heavy load to bear !!

Shake You Donkey Up

Here he come again
Dress in all that skin
Like he was still human being
Look at he long ears
And he big brown eyes
And with them truth he is seeing
Isnt it a shame you kicked that girl
Isnt it a shame she kicked you back, jackass
She really shake you donkey up
She really make you donkey up
She really shake you donkey up, quite a packet
How she carry you
Over thick and thin ice
You still dug you spurs in
Now you forced to walk
Laden down with shame
Its not just you back thats hurting
Now children saddle him for riding
Pick a fight with love and she will
Tan your hide in
She really shake you donkey up
She really shake you donkey up
Shake you donkey!

Time Now For The Donkey Dance

it’s time now
let’s all do the donkey dance
it’s time now
for intelligence to carry the donkey
that’s the way
each one of you carry a donkey
for the donkey is tired of its burden
and now it’s your turn
a throne for the donkeys
each intelligence must be
so now
carry the donkey
each one of you
and me - of course, me too
and let’s do the donkey dance
left right
left right
hee haw haw hee
and side and round
and turn
hee haw haw hee
come dance all intelligent beings
this is the dance ever since earth’s first been
the dance of the donkeys
borne on our backs
by you, me and every other human being
the ancient dance of the donkeys
left right
left right
hee haw haw hee
and side and round
and turn
hee haw haw hee

To G. M. W. And G. F. W.

Whenas—(I love that 'whenas' word—
It shows I am a poet, too,)
Q. Horace Flaccus gaily stirred
The welkin with his tra-la-loo,
He little thought one donkey’s back
Would carry thus a double load
Father and son upon one jack,
Galumphing down the Tibur Road.

II

Old is the tale—Aesop’s, I think—
Of that famed miller and his son
Whose fortunes were so 'on the blink'
They had one donk, and only one;
You know the tale—the critic’s squawk
(As pater that poor ass bestrode)—
'Selfish! To make thy fine son walk!'
Perhaps that was on Tibur Road?

III

You will recall how dad got down
And made the son the ass bestride:—
The critics shouted with a frown:
'Shame, boy! pray let thy father ride!'
Up got the dad beside the son;
The donkey staggered with the load
'Poor donk! For shame!' cried every one
That walked the (was it?) Tibur Road.

IV

You know the end! Upon their backs
Daddy and son with much ado
Boosted that most surprised of jacks,—
He kicked, and off the bridge he flew;
'He! haw!' A splash! A gurgling sound—
A long, last watery abode—
In Anio’s stream the donk was drowned—
(If this occurred on Tibur Road.)

V

Let Donkey represent the Odes;
The Miller represent G. M.;
The Son stand for G. F.; the loads
Of Critics—I will do for them.
Now, then, this proposition made,
(And my bum verses 'Ah’d' and 'Oh’d!').
