Post Valentine Scruples
i could have taken her
to a movie and kiss her
but oh my
her eyes are sharp
and filled with
neon lights
i could have taken
her to dinner and have
this candle light
and light lovely music
as try our tongues
on valentine steak
and mocca dessert
but her saliva froths
from her mouth
and she does not
use any handkerchief
and so i am here alone
strolling on this
quiet beach thinking
there must be someone
worth loving and
proud showing to my
friends and my
foes alike
