Fimbul Winter
As winter reigned
With fimbul ferocity
My thoughts fled
To the shade in the sun
from a she-dog in heat
who ran astray
& a dog that
bit the hand that fed it
Cutting cold
cobblestone
corners
amidst the rejects
and hapless victims
of human folly
I face 28 to life
