Sonnet: Man, Be Thyself for Good
Oh, let the world remain bad, I’ll be good;
Oh, let the world corrupt be, I’ll be straight;
Oh, let the world wear immoral a hood;
Protect me Lord, from the monetary bait.
Oh, let the world confused be, I’ll be clear;
Oh, let the world ignore God, I will not;
Oh, let the world to conscience not hear;
Oh, by Thine tenets, words, I will be brought.
Oh, let the world in vices be baptized;
Oh, let the world forget the Lord’s commands;
Oh, let the world remain a boat-capsized;
I will adhere to my Maker’s demands.
Oh, how can I forget Thy love for me;
Let me O God, serve Thee, the way truly.
