Impossibilities
I cannot keep you,
You are not mine to keep
As much as I
Would like to believe
That I can
I do not have you,
You were never mine to have
Even though
My dreams
Tell me that it is so
I cannot make you,
Feel for me
The stirrings of love
That I feel for you
While my pride
Holds my heart
Safely tucked away
Within the delicate folds
Of my denial.
