Ragging
Universities and campus prepare their grave,
In the guise of education they put front brave,
Bur on ground of morality they cave in,
Line drawn clear but education thin,
Great fall in standard and knowledge lagging,
More efforts on fashion and thrust on ragging,
Many loose their lives on name of flogging,
It is blot or shame and prestige more dragging,
From a distance some movement I saw,
Senior hitting junior with his fist on jaw,
Not knowing what? Junior bowed and beg,
Saw I senior pouring liquor from peg,
All students shouted and danced with joy,
Entrant was unaware and cried like boy,
This was great fun as if playing with toy,
Humanity at loss and disgrace they enjoy,
Student suffered injury with eye lost,
Life became hell as faced humiliation most,
Blind he became with life at cost,
Protest, uproar, outcry still no penalty post,
Even females not by boys but girls spared,
Forced to remove cloths and honour not cared,
Parade them in open with body made bare,
Not shamed by self but make others aware,
There is race in campus to corner any miss,
Who will venture first for open kiss?
Such is scene and action so childish?
No steps being taken with argument foolish,
Poor boys and girls enter with high hope,
Bright carrier, idea golden all of sudden flop,
Some jump in water and few commit suicide,
How to face crime not been able to decide,
Inhuman act persist and still prevail,
No option open as how to education avail,
Who do we blame? Society or parent,
Weaknesses still remain as quality inherent,
Precious lives lost with strict laws present,
Zeal for study and respect remain absent,
Why these continue if there is consent?
Why no public opinion who always do resent?
