The Haitian Flag Is Indeed Resilient / Le Drapeau Haïtien Est En Effet Indestructible

On 1/12/10, our brave Flag did not stop floating and glowing,
Amidst the relentless attacks against our Country,
While the elected officials went into hiding
Deep inside the beer kegs of the shameless garden.

Generals, soldiers, cops, politicians – they were all absent.
A country needs an army, and competent men and women
To protect its citizens against natural, supernatural
And criminal elements. Haiti needs great leaders, which will remain loyal.

Our beloved Haiti is hungry, our Homeland is thirsty.
We want an end to kidnappings and corruption.
We want the bloodsuckers to say arrivederci,
Before they snatch the biggest portion.

Our People must radically improve themselves
To adhere to better sanitary conditions,
Away from the infernal might of the selfish elves.
Let’s help each other without hypocrisy and hesitation,
Our brothers and sisters are still dredging under trashes and rubbles.

Our glorious Flag stood up to the quakes and its after-trembles,
Our proud symbol did not go into hiding
Our Haitian Bicolor brilliantly weathered the storms.
Our Nation, our Haiti is being eating away by worms.
Let’s unite, and work efficiently on the building and rebuilding
Of our infrastructure, so our People can be spared from the current hell.

In the sky, our Flag is daringly floating above the tents.
Our equally brave People are constantly fighting like mad ants
Against all odds. Let’s hope the conscience of our officials is not for sale.
Our Homeland deserves better than that, our Country
Is in dire need of effective leaders to save our darling Haiti.

Now is the time for all Haitians
To unite, to stop hating each other.
It is indeed the season for all Haitians
To be one, to stop betraying each other.
Haitians of everywhere, brothers and sisters-nations,
Let’s love and support each other forever.
