The Affinity of Love
The shady winds of Heaven
Bitter, Sweet, and Cold
Reminisce like a moment
Emotions unfold.
One loves a loving dream,
If happiness is found;
For if a bird loves its nest
Like its nest loves its bough,
Then emotion in my dream
Is love I bear for thou.
Each night I lay awake
Staring at the sky;
To ponder my existence
And all that passes by.
I often sit with Time,
And we speak with only sighs.
And when I ask question,
I feel his sentience,
But hear no reply.
Does day or night,
Or the Moon and Sun
Complete equations, like
Rise over Run.
If love is felt,
But never is seen,
Does it exist-
This love to be.
If I am transcended
By the touch of thy hand-
Would Love be present,
And all else be bland?
The Universe is cinctured
By attraction of all,
The affinity of Love-
Is Divine, by Law.
And the skiey bowers
And the clandestine lights;
Secret like a soul, to maunder
Away from our sight.
