A horse to Ride, A sword to wield,
an ocean of grass to tame.
The Seventh was out in the field
to make George Custer’s name.

and were taking casualties.

to lend a helping hand.

There was a breakdown in command.

But death was not to be denied,
Their blood fed thirsty sand.

with a bullet near his heart.

His troopers hacked apart.

The position held by Reno
And commanded by Benteen
survived several furious assaults
before the natives fled the scene.
