The Pill Versus The Springhill Mine Disaster

When you take your pill
it’s like a mine disaster.
I think of all the people
lost inside of you.

Pill.........placebo Domingo

Give me a pill, and I'll say I'm okay

Give me a pill and I'll just go away

Give me a pill and I'll swing from the rafters

Give me a pill and I'll live 'happy ever after'

Give me a pill and I'll site you in my will

Give me a pill and I'll stop being 'ill'

Give me a pill and I'll trip the light fantastic

Give me a pill and i'll overdose on 'plastic'

Give me a pill and I'll lie through my back teeth

And say that you're 'fantastic'

Give me a pill and I'll give you some wine
Give me a pill and I'll say that I'm fine

But give me a placebo

And then i'll sing 'nessun dorma' like that FAT CAT

PLACIDO DOMINGO!

But For Being Lost

As black imbued black, so was rendered the pitch of darkness
That befogged this godforsaken yard of graves -
And too the dank, ‘til now forgotten chapel that
Did little to grace these forlorn grounds.

Yet here stood I, seemingly first to tread this weed-ridden soil
Since times of yore when life had erstwhile blessed this land.
But for being lost in solitude - as does a country wanderer -
Would I not have happened across this morbid landscape.

And though detail rendered barely visible to my naked eye –
For desperately had the moon tried to break through this jet fog –
A sense of something suffused the place.
Was it those tormented spirits desperate for absolution,
Or perhaps the gargoyles teasing me on whether they be of stone or living flesh?

I was drawn to the oak door as it enticingly opened in passage for me.
The organ called from down the nave and through the pale orange of unsteady light
- that which could only be mustered from the few discoloured, moribund candles.
Could I also hear a distant choir of stern voices, as if in effort to scold me?

As I approached, those tarnished pipes came into view.
Standing erect with gothic pride, they bore down on me with patronising air -
Exaggerated by the disjointed sneering of minor chords,
As if to state that insignificant I had henceforth no grant of solace.

In answer, I steadied my rocking legs and racing mind to wonder of this scenario.
And in doing so, I found myself waking from a cramped dream –
Whence the message dawned: mine had been such a claustrophobic life.

Chill Pill

Everybody needs to take a chill pill
there's so much love to fill
everybody needs to take a chill pill
let these wounds heal
everybody needs to take a chill pill

Let it be your will
dry all this blood we spill
everybody needs to take a chill pill
find in your heart not to kill
everybody needs to take a chill pill

Think how the world would feel
everybody needs to take a chill pill
think of it as being real
everybody needs to take a chill pill
take your guns and kneel

You won't have to steal
while you watch your tire's peel
everybody needs to take a chill pill
nothing here is that big of a deal
if only it was so surreal
little bird on the windowsill
everybody needs to take a chill pill

Leopard-skin Pill-box Hat

Well, I see you got your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat
Yes, I see you got your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat
Well, you must tell me, baby
How your head feels under somethin like that
Under your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat
Well, you look so pretty in it
Honey, can I jump on it sometime?
Yes, I just wanna see
If its really that expensive kind
You know it balances on your head
Just like a mattress balances
On a bottle of wine
Your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat
Well, if you wanna see the sun rise
Honey, I know where
Well go out and see it sometime
Well both just sit there and stare
Me with my belt
Wrapped around my head
And you just sittin there
In your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat
Well, I asked the doctor if I could see you
Its bad for your health, he said
Yes, I disobeyed his orders
I came to see you
But I found him there instead
You know, I dont mind him cheatin on me
But I sure wish hed take that off his head
Your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat
Well, I see you got a new boyfriend
You know, I never seen him before
Well, I saw him
Makin love to you
You forgot to close the garage door
You might think he loves you for your money
But I know what he really loves you for
Its your brand new leopard-skin pill-box hat

Bitter Pill

And the label said take two for the pain
So now I medicate my brain
The conflict rubs against my grain
But I cannot flush this down the drain
We are so hopeless
We are so hopelessly in love
She breaks my will
Shes my bitter pill
Addicted to her
Cant fight off the chill
Shes blurs my world
Shes my bitter pill
We creep the night
Just to taste the thrill
Hopelessly in love
Shes the kind of love drives a man insane
She sticks her poison right in my vien
Spinning around
Over and upside down in love
She breaks my will
Shes my bitter pill
Addicted to her
Cant fight off the chill
Shes blurs my world
Shes my bitter pill
We creep the night
Just to taste the thrill
Hopelessly in love
She blurs my world
Shes my bitter pill
She breaks my will
Shes my bitter pill
We creep the night
Just to taste the thrill
Addicted to her
Shes my bitter pill

Dedication to medication part one

Ode to my little pink pill
You are my saviour,
And my ultimate downfall.
Like so many little pills
That came before you
The first gave me lisence
To act without consequence
Until a little beige pill
Was needed when you failed
After that while on sabbatical
I had some bigger white pills
With a pessary too
To undo the promiscuity.
Little yellow pill
Tucked up in my gum
You help me stomach myself
Little lozenge pill
You soothe the monsters
That live by my bed
Tiny blue speckled pill
You drench me in annonymity
Till little pink pill
The littlest pink pill
Sings her Seroquel lullaby
And sentences me to sleep.

Not at a Loss Chord - after Adelaide Anne Procter – A Lost Chord

Not at a Loss Chord

Playing one day with my organ,
I was blissful – not ill at ease -
while five fingers wandered wildly
web-cams recording each wheeze.

I know the spot vibrating,
less what I was dreaming then,
but I strummed with both will and spirit
and an “Oh My God! Amen! ”

Adrenaline flowed not vainly
from heart to crimson palm,
as it coursed both veins and spirit
with little akin to calm.

It quieted pain and sorrow,
like love overcoming strife;
it seem[en]ed orgasmic echo
to tune discordant life.

It linked all perplexèd meanings
into one perfect peace,
and trembled away into silence
although I was loth to cease.

I have sought, and I seek not vainly,
that one G spot divine,
which linked my soul to the organ
so manifestly mine.

La petite morte delightful
strikes shivering molten core,
as this little verse insightful
calls for en corps encore!

It may be that Death's bright angel
will speak in that chord again,
for its surely in seventh Heaven
one sings “Oh My God! Amen! ”

The Bitter Pill

Sometimes I'm lost - And then I'm found
Sometimes I feel - Turned inside out
I'm often silent when I'm screaming inside
Instead of love - We tend to hate
We never quite - Apprecaite
How much the other person cares or tries
CHORUS
Hold me close
Don't ever let me go
I'm confused
Maybe someday I will know why...
Sometimes I'm right as rain
And when it rains it pours
You're such a mystery
Why can't I unlock the door
All that glitters isn't gold
Too much is overkill
Love can be beautiful
Or a bitter pill
And when I'm right - I'm also wrong
We give and take - To get along
There's so much more to this
Than I ever dreamed
And when you smile - I have to laugh
And when you cry - I'm torn in half
So calm and yet so loose at the seams
CHORUS
OPERA
Liebe kahn eine bittere pille sein
Eine bittere pille
Liebe ist eine bittere pille
Liebe kahn eine bittere pille sein
[German to English translation
Love a bitter pill can be
A bitter pill
Love is a bitter pill
A bitter pill]
MAD GERMAN
Ich will ein bier
Ich will be soffen sein
Die ganze welt is dumm
Mir steht es so im hals
Ich sage dir
Die liebe kann nur luge sein

I want to get drunk
The whole world is stupid
It's a pain in the neck
It's a myth

The Sickness

he cannot imagine himself
now
swallowing from pill to pill
his stomach
becoming more like
a pharmaceutical
storage cabinet

there is a pill for his
numb arms
another pill for his
acidic stomach
more pills for him
to sleep
another pill for his
throat infection
another one for his
allergies
side effects of some
drugs that he had been
taking

this sickness into death
until one day
he refuses any pill
not that he cannot pay the bill
he is ready for
the thrill

A Lost Day

Lost is the day in which you have not found fulfillment in any area: work, private, or social.

Lost is the day in which you have not found a reason to smile: not about others, and not about yourself.

Lost is the day in which you have not been of any service: neither to others, nor to yourself.

Lost is the day in which you have not shared some love with another living creature.

Lost is the day in which you did not dedicate one positive thought to yourself.

Lost is the day in which your laziness prevented you to be constructive.

Lost is the day in which you allowed the setbacks and failures of the world to get the best of you.

Lost is the day in which you allowed your jealousy to conquer your compassion.

Lost is the day in which you undertook any act with a devious intention.

Lost is the day in which your mind prevailed your heart.

Lost is the day in which you allowed material gain to determine your decisions.

Lost is the day in which you sought out a prey among the vulnerable.

Lost is the day in which you discarded empathy.

Lost is the day in which you preferred ignorance, through discrimination of any kind, to embracement of equality.

Lost is the day in which you got lost in backbiting and any other kind of meanness directed toward another.

Lost is the day in which you failed to recognize the lesson in even the most dreadful experience.

Lost is the day in which you ignored the voice of your intuition.

Lost is the day in which you did not prioritize the ones you love over material gain.

Lost is the day in which you lowered yourself to hypocrisy.

Lost is the day in which you deliberately brought pain upon another living creature.

Lost is the day in which you allowed hope to get lost.

Lost is the day in which you forgot where you came from.

Lost is the day in which you forget where you're going.

Lost is the day in which you allowed an estrangement between your mind, your body, and your soul.

Lost is the day in which you were not creative.

Angel Of Death

Oh my god
Theres millions of them!
Ive seen a fire start in frisco
The day that the earth quaked
Ive seen buildings a-blazing
Throwing up in flames
I heard men, women and children
Crying out to their God for mercy
But their God didnt listen
So they were burned alive
They went down, down, deep underground
In the great disaster
I was hanging out in berlin
In the year one thousand nine hundred and thirty nine
Ive seen hitlers storm troopers
March right across the maginot line
Ive seen two world wars
Ive seen men send rockets out into space
I foresee a holocaust
An angel of death descending to destroy the human race
Down, down, deep undergound
A great disaster
In the sixteenth century there was a french philosopher
By the name of nostradamus
Who prophesised that in the late twentieth century
An angel of death shall waste this land
A holocaust the likes of which
This planet had never seen
Now, I ask you
Do you believe this to be true?
I was standing by the bedside
The night that my father died
He was crying out in pain
To his God he said, have mercy, mercy!
His body was riddled with a disease
Unknown to man so he expected no cure
But before he died that night
He was lost, insane
He went down, down, deep underground
A great disaster
Youll go down, down, deep underground
A great disaster
I think theyve got now!
Angel of death (lynott, wharton) [lorelei version]
--------------
I was hanging round in frisco
In the year of one hundred and nineteen six
When I heard about the earthquake
The world trembled from within
I saw the fire ragin

Through the eyes of a Field Coronet (Epic)

Introduction

In the kaki coloured tent in Umbilo he writes
his life’s story while women, children and babies are dying,
slowly but surely are obliterated, he see how his nation is suffering
while the events are notched into his mind.

Lying even heavier on him is the treason
of some other Afrikaners who for own gain
have delivered him, to imprisonment in this place of hatred
and thoughts go through him to write a book.

Prologue

The Afrikaner nation sprouted
from Dutchmen,
who fought decades without defeat
against the super power Spain

mixed with French Huguenots
who left their homes and belongings,
with the revocation of the Edict of Nantes.
Associate this then with the fact

that these people fought formidable
for seven generations
against every onslaught that they got
from savages en wild animals

becoming marksmen, riding
and taming wild horses
with one bullet per day
to hunt a wild antelope,

who migrated right across the country
over hills in mass protest
and then you have
the most formidable adversary
and then let them fight

in a natural wilderness
where the hunter,
the sniper and horseman excels
and any enemy is at a lost.

Let them then also be patriotic
into their souls,
believe in and read
out of the word of God

All Different, But Still The Same

Some people have short hair, some have long.
Some people have thick hair; some peoples hair is all gone.

Some people have black hair, some have gray.
Some people have brown hair, some blonde, some red.
Some peoples hair a color unsaid.

Some people are short, some people are tall.
Some people will love you; some won’t like you at all.

Some people like hot weather, some like cold.
Some people are timid, some people are bold.
Some people have dark skin, some people have light.
Some people have black skin, some people have white.

Some people eat meat; some won’t touch it at all.
Some people have a good memory, some can’t recall.
Some people accept Christ, some never will.
Some people are stingy, some people give.

Some people like school, some people don’t.
Some people will excel, some people won’t.
Some people smoke cigarettes, some never will.
Some people are honest, some people steal.

Some people have book knowledge;
But don’t know the Holy Book.
Some people burn food, some people can cook.

Some people are old, some people are young.
Some people do smart things, some people do dumb.

Some people just have a diploma
Some people have degrees.
Some people do things slow, some with a breeze.
Some people are complainers, some easy to please.

Some people hate shopping, some stay in the mall.
Some people hate God, but God loves us all.

We are all different, but still the same.

When I get cut, I bleed red;
You get cut, red blood you’ll shed.

Some people are plump, some people are thin.
But we are all the same, we’re all human being.

Virginia's Story

Elizabeth Gates-Wooten is my Grand mom.

She was born in Canada with her father and brothers.
They owned a Barber Shoppe.
I don't remember exactly where in Canada.
I believe it was right over the border like Windsor or Toronto.
I never knew exactly where it was.

When she was old enough she got married.

First, she married a man by the name of Frank Gates.
He was from Madagascar.
He fathered my mom and her brother and sister.
The boy's name was Frank Gates, Jr.
Two girls name were Anna and Agnes.

Agnes was my mother.

Frank Gates went crazy after the war
He drank a lot and died
Then grandma Elizabeth married a man by the name of Mr. Wooten.
He had a German name, but I don't think he was German.
She took his last name after they got married.

Then they moved to West Virginia in the United States.

Their son, Frank Gates Jr. Became a delegate in the democratic party.
He use to get into a lot of trouble because he liked to fight.
He was a delegate from the 1940's to 1970's.
He died of gout in the 1970's.

Anna was a maid and cook.

She baked cakes and stuff for people as a side line.
She had a hump on her back (scoliosis) .
She had to walk with a cane.
She could cook good though.
She did this kind of work all of her life, just like her mom, Elizabeth

They were both good cooks

They had a lot of money because they had these skills
Especially when people had parties.
Because they would make all of this food and then they would have left-overs.
We got to eat a lot of stuff we normally wouldn't get because of that.
When they cooked, they didn't use no measuring stuff, they would just use there hand.

My moms name was Agnes Barrie Gates.

She married James Wright and moved to Cleveland.

Lost In A Lost World

I woke today, I was crying
Lost in a lost world
So many people are dying
Lost in a lost world
Some of them are living an illusion
Bounded by the darkness of their minds
In their eyes its nation, against nation, against nation
With racial pride
Sounds...
Thinking only of themselves
They shun the light
(shun the light)
They think theyre right
(think theyre right)
Living in their empty shells
Oh, can you see their bodies thrashing
(so many people, so many people)
Crashing down around their feet
Angry people in the street
Telling them theyve had their fill
Of politics, people who kill
Grow... the seed of evolution
(so many people, so many people)
Revolution everyone
Its just another form of gun
To do again what they have done
Let all our brothers come and get some
(so many people, so many people)
Everywhere you go you see them searching
Everywhere you turn you feel the pain
Everyone is looking for the answers
Well look again, come on my friend
Love will find us in the end
Come on my friend
(on my friend)
Weve got to bend
(got to bend)
Down on our knees and say a prayer
Oh, can you see the world is pining
(so many people, so many people)
Pining for someone who really cares enough to share his love
With all of us so we can be
An ever loving family
Have we forgotten who loves who
(so many people, so many people)
Children from a family tree
Thats longer than a centipede
Started long ago when you and i
Where only love....
(so many people, so many people)

Byron

Canto the First

I
I want a hero: an uncommon want,
When every year and month sends forth a new one,
Till, after cloying the gazettes with cant,
The age discovers he is not the true one;
Of such as these I should not care to vaunt,
I'll therefore take our ancient friend Don Juan—
We all have seen him, in the pantomime,
Sent to the devil somewhat ere his time.

II
Vernon, the butcher Cumberland, Wolfe, Hawke,
Prince Ferdinand, Granby, Burgoyne, Keppel, Howe,
Evil and good, have had their tithe of talk,
And fill'd their sign posts then, like Wellesley now;
Each in their turn like Banquo's monarchs stalk,
Followers of fame, "nine farrow" of that sow:
France, too, had Buonaparté and Dumourier
Recorded in the Moniteur and Courier.

III
Barnave, Brissot, Condorcet, Mirabeau,
Petion, Clootz, Danton, Marat, La Fayette,
Were French, and famous people, as we know:
And there were others, scarce forgotten yet,
Joubert, Hoche, Marceau, Lannes, Desaix, Moreau,
With many of the military set,
Exceedingly remarkable at times,
But not at all adapted to my rhymes.

IV
Nelson was once Britannia's god of war,
And still should be so, but the tide is turn'd;
There's no more to be said of Trafalgar,
'T is with our hero quietly inurn'd;
Because the army's grown more popular,
At which the naval people are concern'd;
Besides, the prince is all for the land-service,
Forgetting Duncan, Nelson, Howe, and Jervis.

V
Brave men were living before Agamemnon
And since, exceeding valorous and sage,
A good deal like him too, though quite the same none;
But then they shone not on the poet's page,
And so have been forgotten:—I condemn none,
But can't find any in the present age
Fit for my poem (that is, for my new one);
So, as I said, I'll take my friend Don Juan.

The Decline

Where are all the stupid people from?
And howd they get to be so dumb?
Bred on purple mountain range
Feed amber waves of grains
To lesser human beings, zero feelings
Blame it on
Human nature, mans destiny (mans destiny)
Blame it on the greediocracy (greediocracy)
Fear of god
The fear of change
The fear of truth
Add the bill of rights, subtract the wrongs
Theres no answers
Memorize and sing star spangled songs
When the questions
Arent ever asked
Is anybody learning from the past?
Were living in united stagnation
Father what have I done?
I took that 22
A gift to me from you
To bed with me each night
Kept it clean
Polished it well
Cherished every cartridge, every shell
Down, by the creek, under brush, under dirt
Theres a carcass of my second kill
Down, by the park, under stone, under pine
Theres a carcass of my brother william
Brother where, have you gone to?
I swear, I never thought I could
I see so many times
They told me to shoot straight
Dont pull the trigger, squeeze
That will insure a kill
A kill is what you want
A kill is why we breed
The christians love their guns
The church and nra
Pray for their salvations
Prey on the lower faiths
The story books been read
And every line believed
Curriculums been set
Logic is a threat
Reason searched and seized
Jerry spent some time in michigan
A twenty year vacation, after all he had a dime
A dime is worth a lot more in detroit
A dime in california, a twenty dollar fine

Lost To Find My Lot

Lost in a world, that scares me to death,
Lost in a crowd I’m losing my breath,
Lost as a kid, lost as an adult
I feel everything is falling apart and its my fault
Lost as a person, cant find my way
Lost in life every day, Lost in worry
Who am I?
I’ve lived a Lie
Lost to Kindness,
Lost to Love
Lost in the sky,
Like a lonely dove
Lost in thought which I shouldn’t do
It Winds me up,
I can’t get through
Lost to comfort all kind words
Lost to advice that isn’t heard
Lost to those who really care?
All these people always there
Lost in Me, I need a break
Lost in wonder which road should I take?
Lost in a place I don’t know well
Where are you now? There’s no one to tell
Lost here all alone To break these walls
Lost in mind
Lost in soul
Lost memories, there just a hole
Lost family, lost my place
Still yet I’m full of hate
Lost in boredom think I’ll leave
There’s a lot in life I need to achieve
