Puttaparuthi
Marketing determines success.
Maneuvering promotes success.
Swamis are not an exception.
Intelligent swamis amass wealth.
People being insecure seek faith.
Progressive in knowledge though they’re,
Regressive they are in action
And run to swamis for faith healing.
Luminaries and millionaires
Prostrated in front of Baba,
Whose philanthropic arm reached out
Beyond the scope of Andhra State.
He projected himself as selfless,
Transparent and minimalistic
With a magic power to redress
Miseries of multitudes across.
He died before he timed his death.
He died in the intensive care.
He died without naming an heir.
He exposed himself in his death.
Gossips were there in early days
That with some women devotees
He had had secrecy and with some
Men devotees he had privacy.
Gold, silver, cash worth millions
Uncovered from his private cells
Are enough to put him behind bar.
He knew he’d not be there to see.
As long as I live in the world
I should live as much in comfort
And have as much sway on people
By any means, each swami’s whim is.

Natives Are Restless Tonight
(Don Tiki)
Let me tell you 'bout my neighborhood
If you're visiting tonight
You better stay out of the shadows
Stay in the bright, bright light
Don't take fright, the natives are restless tonight
They're not particularly interested in me or you
They're just looking for some meat
They can put in their stew
Don't take fright, the natives are restless tonight
And they say...
Hoom baba hoom baba hoom baba hey hey hoom baba hoom baba hoom baba hey hey
Hoom baba hoom baba hoom baba hey hey hoom baba hoom baba hoom baba hey hey
It's best to stay upstairs
With the Good Book alone
'Cause when the drums start burnin'
You better leave your sermons at home
Don't take fright, the natives are restless tonight
And they say...
Hoom baba hoom baba hoom baba hey hey hoom baba hoom baba hoom baba hey hey
Hoom baba hoom baba hoom baba hey hey hoom baba hoom baba hoom baba hey hey
You might consider yourself lucky
Just to be alive
'Cause it's a full moon tonight
And it's right for a conquering tribe.
Don't take fright, the natives are restless tonight
And they say...
Hoom baba hoom baba hoom baba hey hey hoom baba hoom baba hoom baba hey hey
Hoom baba hoom baba hoom baba hey hey hoom baba hoom baba hoom baba hey hey

Canto the Fifth
I
When amatory poets sing their loves
In liquid lines mellifluously bland,
And pair their rhymes as Venus yokes her doves,
They little think what mischief is in hand;
The greater their success the worse it proves,
As Ovid's verse may give to understand;
Even Petrarch's self, if judged with due severity,
Is the Platonic pimp of all posterity.
II
I therefore do denounce all amorous writing,
Except in such a way as not to attract;
Plain -- simple -- short, and by no means inviting,
But with a moral to each error tack'd,
Form'd rather for instructing than delighting,
And with all passions in their turn attack'd;
Now, if my Pegasus should not be shod ill,
This poem will become a moral model.
III
The European with the Asian shore
Sprinkled with palaces; the ocean stream
Here and there studded with a seventy-four;
Sophia's cupola with golden gleam;
The cypress groves; Olympus high and hoar;
The twelve isles, and the more than I could dream,
Far less describe, present the very view
Which charm'd the charming Mary Montagu.
IV
I have a passion for the name of "Mary,"
For once it was a magic sound to me;
And still it half calls up the realms of fairy,
Where I beheld what never was to be;
All feelings changed, but this was last to vary,
A spell from which even yet I am not quite free:
But I grow sad -- and let a tale grow cold,
Which must not be pathetically told.
V
The wind swept down the Euxine, and the wave
Broke foaming o'er the blue Symplegades;
'T is a grand sight from off the Giant's Grave
To watch the progress of those rolling seas
Between the Bosphorus, as they lash and lave
Europe and Asia, you being quite at ease;
There's not a sea the passenger e'er pukes in,
Turns up more dangerous breakers than the Euxine.

Run, Run, Run
I was sitting in the field, feeling the grass.
Counting the stars as they come out.
Feeling (feeling) the breeze, (feeling the breeze)
Feeling (feeling) the spring. (feeling the spring)
Suddenly I noticed there wasnt light anymore.
Run, run, run, run, run to the light,
Run, run, run, run, run for your life.
I tumbled on roots, stumbled on stones.
Lost my marbles, stepped on my glasses.
Feeling (feeling) the air, (feeling the air)
Feeling (feeling) the wind. (feeling the wind)
Suddenly I noticed it wasnt fun anymore.
Run, run, run, run, run towards the light,
Run, run, run, run, run for your life.
I came out of the darkness into the house,
The lights were left on but nobody around.
Feeling (feeling) the room, (feeling the room)

Till We Get The Healing Done
Down those old ancient streets
Down those old ancient roads
Baby there together we must go
Till we get the healing done
Till we get the healing done
Till youre satisfied with your life
Till youre satisfied with your life
Till youre satisfied with your life
And its running right, and its running right
Till you deal with the poison inside
Sometimes youve got to sit down and cry
When you deal with the poison inside
Till we get the healing done
Till we get the healing done
Till you feel the tingle up your spine
Till youre satisfied and youre mine
Till you feel a tingle up your spine
Till we get the healing done
Till we get the healing done
Till you live in the glory of the one
Till you live in the land of the sun
Till you feel like your life has just begun
Till we get the healing done
Till we get the healing done
Till we dwell in the house of the lord
Till you dont have to worry no more
Till you open a brand new world
Till we get the healing done
Till we get the healing done
Till it makes you feel alright
Till youre satisfied with your life
Till you know you live in the light
Till we get the healing done
Oh till we get the healing done
Till you look at the mountains every day
Till you wash all your troubles away
And you live right here in the day
Till we get the healing done
Oh till we get the healing done
Oh till its truth and its beauty and its grace
Till youve finally found your true place
Till you know your original face
Till we get the healing done
Oh child, till we get the healing done
Oh when everythings going right
Till youre satisfied with your life
Till youre living in the light
Till we get the healing done
Oh till we get the healing done
Oh when you feel it, when you feel it in your soul

The Believer's Principles : Chap. IV.
Faith and Sense Natural, compared and distinguished.
When Abram's body, Sarah's womb,
Were ripe for nothing but the tomb,
Exceeding old, and wholly dead,
Unlike to bear the promis'd seed:
Faith said, 'I shall an Isaac see;'
'No, no,' said Sense, 'it cannot be;'
Blind Reason, to augment the strife,
Adds, 'How can death engender life?'
My heart is like a rotten tomb,
More dead than ever Sarah's womb;
O! can the promis'd seed of grace
Spring forth from such a barren place?
Sense gazing but on flinty rocks,
My hope and expectation chokes:
But could I, skill'd in Abram's art,
O'erlook my dead and barren heart;
And build my hope on nothing less
That divine pow'r and faithfulness;
Soon would I find him raise up sons
To Abram, out of rocks and stones.
Faith acts as busy boatmen do,
Who backward look and forward row;
It looks intent to things unseen,
Thinks objects visible too mean.
Sense thinks it madness thus to steer,
And only trusts its eye and ear;
Into faith's boat dare thrust its oar,
And put it further from the shore.
Faith does alone the promise eye;
Sense won't believe unless it see;
Nor can it trust the divine guide,
Unless it have both wind and tide.
Faith thinks the promise sure and good;
Sense doth depend on likelihood;
Faith ev'n in storms believes the seers;
Sense calls all men, ev'n prophets, liars.
Faith uses means, but rests on none;
Sense sails when outward means are gone:

Siridi Sai Baba
SIRIDI SAI BABA Vavroovahana Patra
Siridi Sai Baba is everywhere;
Attracts devotees with pleasure.
At the age of sixteen Baba advises devotes;
Inspires to engage mind in social service with delight.
Baba advises to provide food to dogs, cattle and poor people daily;
Providing food derive peace daily.
On Thursday pray Baba delightfully;
Surrender on the Lotus Feet daily.
Baba is omnipresent;
Provides peace, merriment.
Protects devotee’s life;
Evaporates devotee’s grief.
I, the poet, pray Baba gaily;
Surrender on the Lotus Feet delightfully.
Baba is Vishnu, Rama, Krishna, Jagannath on Earth;
In four ages Baba incarnates with mirth.
Siridi is pure forever;
Baba smiles at Siridi with pleasure.
Cures devotee’s disease;
In the family showers Baba’s Bliss.
He is Almighty;
I, the novelist pray Baba’s with gaiety.
Baba protects women devotees daily;
Provides peace in pure women gaily.
I sing Baba’s song in morning;
Soul drinks the nectar of peace, mind is delighting.
Baba is omnipresent in my family;
Praying Baba we live delightfully.

Hajji Baba
(Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji)
Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji Baba, Hajji Baba
Hajji Baba, Hajji Baba, Hajji Baba
He was always in love, in love, in love
Come to my tent, oh my beloved
Bring me your lips, warm as the sun
Hear my lament, oh my beloved
Come to my arms, oh wonderful one
Enter my heart and stay there forever
Lost in the spell of stars up above
And we'll be like the man Hajji Baba
Always in love, always in love
(Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji)
Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji Baba, Hajji Baba
Hajji Baba, Hajji Baba, Hajji Baba
He was always in love, in love
Deep in each soul, carefully hidden
There's a desire to be indiscreet
Hajji has said when love is forbidden
Love is so sweet, love is so sweet
Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji, Hajji Baba, Hajji Baba
Hajji Baba, Hajji Baba, Hajji Baba
He was always in love, in love, in love
Come to my arms, oh my beloved

Canto the Sixth
I
"There is a tide in the affairs of men
Which, -- taken at the flood," -- you know the rest,
And most of us have found it now and then;
At least we think so, though but few have guess'd
The moment, till too late to come again.
But no doubt every thing is for the best --
Of which the surest sign is in the end:
When things are at the worst they sometimes mend.
II
There is a tide in the affairs of women
Which, taken at the flood, leads -- God knows where:
Those navigators must be able seamen
Whose charts lay down its current to a hair;
Not all the reveries of Jacob Behmen
With its strange whirls and eddies can compare:
Men with their heads reflect on this and that --
But women with their hearts on heaven knows what!
III
And yet a headlong, headstrong, downright she,
Young, beautiful, and daring -- who would risk
A throne, the world, the universe, to be
Beloved in her own way, and rather whisk
The stars from out the sky, than not be free
As are the billows when the breeze is brisk --
Though such a she's a devil (if that there be one),
Yet she would make full many a Manichean.
IV
Thrones, worlds, et cetera, are so oft upset
By commonest ambition, that when passion
O'erthrows the same, we readily forget,
Or at the least forgive, the loving rash one.
If Antony be well remember'd yet,
'T is not his conquests keep his name in fashion,
But Actium, lost for Cleopatra's eyes,
Outbalances all Caesar's victories.
V
He died at fifty for a queen of forty;
I wish their years had been fifteen and twenty,
For then wealth, kingdoms, worlds are but a sport -- I
Remember when, though I had no great plenty
Of worlds to lose, yet still, to pay my court, I
Gave what I had -- a heart: as the world went, I
Gave what was worth a world; for worlds could never
Restore me those pure feelings, gone forever.

Randall
1, 2, 3, 4,
My name is Randall,
No I don't think I've met you before my friend,
I don't really know you,
But I heard your message on the answering machine,
Think it went something like this,
"Hello Randall,
Heard that you wrote a big hit,
And you're rich now,
Hope you remember the promise you made,
When I taught you everything that you know"
Do run run, do run run,
Randall here they come,
Do run run, do run run,
Randall here they come,
Do run run, do run run,
Randall here they come,
Do run run, do run run,
Randall here they come.
My name is rock star,
Tell me aren't you sick of me yet, my friends,
Cos I am the asshole,
Who thinks that his advise is all you need to survive,
Give me the sound of the crowd,
Give me the people who know all the lyrics,
Give me the face of the kid in the front,
When he realises what the song is about.
Do run run, do run run,
Randall here they come,
Do run run, do run run,
Randall here they come,
Do run run, do run run,
Randall here they come,
Do run run, do run run,
Randall here they come,
Here they come.
Time to tell the truth now Randall,
Time to give it up now Randall,
Time to let us know now Randall,
Please, Randall please,
My name is Randall,
And that can be anything you want it to be,
Woo!
Do run run, do run run,

Do run run, do run run,

I Wanna Be Sedated
20-20-20-4 hours to go
i wanna be sedated
nothing to do, nowhere to go, oh
i wanna be sedated
just get me to the airport, put me on a plane
hurry,hurry,hurry before i go insane
i can't control my fingers, i can't control my brain
oh no, oh no, oh no
20-20-20-4 hours to go
i wanna be sedated
nothing to do, nowhere to go,oh
i wanna be sedated
just put me in a wheelchair, puy me on a plane
hurry hurry hurry before i go insane
i can't control my fingers, i can't control my brain
oh no oh no oh no
20-20-20-4 hours to go
i wanna be sedated
nothing to do, nowhere to go, oh
i wanna be sedated
just put me in a wheelchair, get me to the show
hurry hurry hurry before i cant let go
i can't control my fingers, i can't control my toes
oh no oh no oh no
ba-ba-baba, baba -ba-baba i wanna be sedated
ba-ba-baba, baba-ba-baba i wanna be sedated
ba-ba-baba, baba-ba-baba i wanna be sedated
ba-ba-baba, baba-ba-baba i wanna be sedated

You Cant Put Your Arms Around Whats Already Gone
I saw red, stayed at home
Placed a big pillow over the phone
In this town where Im from
Ive learned two is so much better than one
But you left me alone
You cant put your arms around whats already gone
Watch you sink like a stone
You cant put your arms around whats already gone
Well, you hurt to the core
You used to kiss like no one had done before
And your taste turned me on
Now you drive me real crazy just by being born
Cos you left (left left left) me alone (left me alone)
And you cant put your arms around whats already gone
Watch you sink like a stone
You cant put your arms around whats already gone
Baba b-baba b-baba ba
Baba b-baba b-baba ba
Took the tram round the bay
Where everyone tells you to have a nice day
And my pride almost broke
When the tears dont fit you, you look like a joke
And you left (left left left) me alone (left me alone)
You cant put your arms around whats already gone
Cryin eyes gettin worn
You cant put your arms around whats already gone
Hey, you left (left left left) me alone (left me alone)
You cant put your arms around whats already gone
Watch you sink like a stone
You cant put your arms around whats already gone

Rumble in the jungle
Give us some poetry?
Me, we..?
These are the words;
Of Muhammad Ali..!
Ali—baba-booyah! Ali
The emperor of Horus
Sang back the chorus…
Ali—baba-booyah!
Ali—baba-booyah!
Ali—baba-booyah!
The peoples Champion!
A roaring catlike, lion
with long-legs of lynxes
a king of all… the Cobras
With a right leading, paw...
His arm like a ripsaw...
And with words of combat
He was like a buzzing black, gnat...
In the ear of an iron wall-
0f fury, surely, he’s only a Meatball.
Said he a half-crazed; George Forman
He isn’t there, American, Tarzan
surely he isn’t their hero’ this? Muhammad Ali...
Ail—baba-booyah! Ali
The emperor of Horus
Sang back they in chorus
Ali—baba-booyah!
Ali—baba-booyah!
Ali—baba-booyah!
Hellfire’s sharpened inside a mountain beast:
Whose instincts weren’t yet that of a baptized priest?
This only unleashed a thuggish bears raging guffaws…
In a taciturn of natural, laws.
A trudging elephant goes, sleeping…
Wearily on the ropes—he’s just waiting
Tobacco chewing the brawlers
Heart weakening boulders.
His heart thrashing leaf shredding soul…
All this is compounding so all his admirers’ console!
Muhammad Ali...
Ali—baba-booyah! Ali
The emperor of Horus
Sang back in chorus

Bishop Blougram's Apology
No more wine? then we'll push back chairs and talk.
A final glass for me, though: cool, i' faith!
We ought to have our Abbey back, you see.
It's different, preaching in basilicas,
And doing duty in some masterpiece
Like this of brother Pugin's, bless his heart!
I doubt if they're half baked, those chalk rosettes,
Ciphers and stucco-twiddlings everywhere;
It's just like breathing in a lime-kiln: eh?
These hot long ceremonies of our church
Cost us a little—oh, they pay the price,
You take me—amply pay it! Now, we'll talk.
So, you despise me, Mr. Gigadibs.
No deprecation—nay, I beg you, sir!
Beside 't is our engagement: don't you know,
I promised, if you'd watch a dinner out,
We'd see truth dawn together?—truth that peeps
Over the glasses' edge when dinner's done,
And body gets its sop and holds its noise
And leaves soul free a little. Now's the time:
Truth's break of day! You do despise me then.
And if I say, "despise me"—never fear!
1 know you do not in a certain sense—
Not in my arm-chair, for example: here,
I well imagine you respect my place
(Status, entourage, worldly circumstance)
Quite to its value—very much indeed:
—Are up to the protesting eyes of you
In pride at being seated here for once—
You'll turn it to such capital account!
When somebody, through years and years to come,
Hints of the bishop—names me—that's enough:
"Blougram? I knew him"—(into it you slide)
"Dined with him once, a Corpus Christi Day,
All alone, we two; he's a clever man:
And after dinner—why, the wine you know—
Oh, there was wine, and good!—what with the wine . . .
'Faith, we began upon all sorts of talk!
He's no bad fellow, Blougram; he had seen
Something of mine he relished, some review:
He's quite above their humbug in his heart,
Half-said as much, indeed—the thing's his trade.
I warrant, Blougram's sceptical at times:
How otherwise? I liked him, I confess!"
Che che, my dear sir, as we say at Rome,
Don't you protest now! It's fair give and take;
You have had your turn and spoken your home-truths:
The hand's mine now, and here you follow suit.

XI. Guido
You are the Cardinal Acciaiuoli, and you,
Abate Panciatichi—two good Tuscan names:
Acciaiuoli—ah, your ancestor it was
Built the huge battlemented convent-block
Over the little forky flashing Greve
That takes the quick turn at the foot o' the hill
Just as one first sees Florence: oh those days!
'T is Ema, though, the other rivulet,
The one-arched brown brick bridge yawns over,—yes,
Gallop and go five minutes, and you gain
The Roman Gate from where the Ema's bridged:
Kingfishers fly there: how I see the bend
O'erturreted by Certosa which he built,
That Senescal (we styled him) of your House!
I do adjure you, help me, Sirs! My blood
Comes from as far a source: ought it to end
This way, by leakage through their scaffold-planks
Into Rome's sink where her red refuse runs?
Sirs, I beseech you by blood-sympathy,
If there be any vile experiment
In the air,—if this your visit simply prove,
When all's done, just a well-intentioned trick,
That tries for truth truer than truth itself,
By startling up a man, ere break of day,
To tell him he must die at sunset,—pshaw!
That man's a Franceschini; feel his pulse,
Laugh at your folly, and let's all go sleep!
You have my last word,—innocent am I
As Innocent my Pope and murderer,
Innocent as a babe, as Mary's own,
As Mary's self,—I said, say and repeat,—
And why, then, should I die twelve hours hence? I—
Whom, not twelve hours ago, the gaoler bade
Turn to my straw-truss, settle and sleep sound
That I might wake the sooner, promptlier pay
His due of meat-and-drink-indulgence, cross
His palm with fee of the good-hand, beside,
As gallants use who go at large again!
For why? All honest Rome approved my part;
Whoever owned wife, sister, daughter,—nay,
Mistress,—had any shadow of any right
That looks like right, and, all the more resolved,
Held it with tooth and nail,—these manly men
Approved! I being for Rome, Rome was for me.
Then, there's the point reserved, the subterfuge
My lawyers held by, kept for last resource,
Firm should all else,—the impossible fancy!—fail,
And sneaking burgess-spirit win the day.
The knaves! One plea at least would hold,—they laughed,—
One grappling-iron scratch the bottom-rock
