Dear Crickets
It's spring time yet
I remember the crickets
long gone and dead probably
those creatures made the autumn nights
so pleasant to spend
though all by myself
a little chilly
it seemed to me
for I had no companion to keep me warm,
yeah, the songs they sang
were making my saddened heart
to rejoyce again
in cheerful spirit.
They were wonderful singers,
yes, they were great
companions.
I miss you guys
though you might have been dead
since long ago,
a few broken or shreded pieces
of your bodies might have lingered
a bit longer or still
stay around in my lodging
here and there who knows,
for you all didn't want me
to forget about you
completely,
did you?
