In The Small Park Aza Rd. Rechavia Thirty- Five Years Later

IN THE SMALL PARK AZA RD. RECHAVIA

Thirty- five years
Have gone by
I was alone then here
My family in America
Lonely and beginning in love.

Here now
In official old age
And not tired
My children far
And worried about-
I do what I did then
Write a small poem
And pretend
I am making my name
An eternity.

The cars go by as they did then
A few cats, one child in the playground
Across from me a flag of Israel on a standard block building
Seen through the yellow- green happy color
Of the morning trees.
