He sits in Stony Silence!
He sits in stony silence;
Looks vacant and distant;
Sans reasons laughs to himself.
Ever seems in unfamiliar lands;
Aeons away from the present or future;
Light-years away from simplest interests;
Not alive to his own existence;
In speechless dialogue with a bodiless soul;
Pain or pleasure pitifully fail in him.
O! ... my mind weeps in torrents;
Waves of sadness crash on my shores;
O God! All say Almighty!
Could you not thrash out the pitiless spirits
That consume one's life and respect
Sucking the soul pithless to the core?
