Still
I still know:
The wisdom that flowed from your lips
like a river never ending.
The love that poured on the earth
Like that rain that waters the plant
I still see:
Your flesh, bare and naked-
the naked truth that we forsook
Your hands, stretching in embrace
like you knew I needed redemption.
I still hear:
your groaning, chilling the quiet souls
Like the shepherd sound to alert his sheep,
Your call to the father
The innocence buried, conscience forsaken
I still feel:
Your scars, the sign of your mercy
Pregnant with love, filled with passion
Your pain, the sum of our joy
Like the sacrifice of a soldier!
I still know and feel it
The truth and the pain
That this world so much resists
I still hear and see it
The call and the shame
that the judges of the world have ignored
