We Were Made For This Desire
I will be king of the flowery paths,
I will walk with you among the gardenias,
We’ll be barefoot among fragrant fields,
We’ll unclothe ourselves like ancient gods and goddesses,
We’ll kiss body parts that tremble with delight,
Once again we will have innocent eyes
Perpetually seeing love.
Our memories transcend these limited days
Of our current stay,
We are connected to the eternal lovers
From every distant age,
We’ve groped each other in wine vineyards
That served Caesars,
We’ve made love amid the chaos of war
From Alexander to Napoleon,
We were made for this desire
That neither water nor raging fire
Could ever extinguish or expire.
