4. I’m having a Breakdown
The breakdown man just shook his head
He’d seen it all before
Car’s like mine were once the best
But not so anymore
Steam rose from the engine
Its temperature hit red
The breakdown man said “terminal”
Can’t fix the thing its dead
The car gave little warning
A long way out of town
Why did we get so far away?
Before the thing broke down
We’d been together quite awhile
Car did all I could ask it
Until the engine seized and stopped
When it blew its main head gasket
