Whine & Cheese (Pray For Ron Menifee)

I know two people, who will be known as A & B,
It’s really amazing how so different they perceive,
A’s a complainer, he’ll drive you out of your mind,
B’s calm as ever, oh, did I mention that he is blind?

The day before traffic court B tragically lost his sight,
Thrown into the pit of forever experiencing only night,
Arrested after 3204 free days,1 day in jail he’s cut loose,
B was fined $396.00 because, “blindness is no excuse, ”

B’s bills are mounting there’s seemingly no end in sight,
This is not a play on words it just happens to be his life,
For the several years I’ve known him he’s still very cool,
Folding red and white constant companion is his only tool.

A on the other hand is about to inherit a six figure windfall,
To most people this is great but to him it is kind of small,
Retirement, maybe a lawsuit, no, real estate worked the deal,
Whatever the reason is not important, for him it’s a free meal.

Why does he always moan, groan, about everything complain?
Sunny and seventy, he’ll mumble “but tomorrow it will rain, ”
Upset when no one comes to visit, A is tired of being alone,
However, who wants to hear him whine, even on his cell phone?

Sure A is grateful for some things but should be elated for all,
I wonder how many times in nine years Mr. B has suffered a fall,
Darn near impossible to get A to read his bible, even one page,
B never leaves home without scripture guiding his closed cage.

There’s a tale of two cities and this poem is a tale of two men,
One with sight adorns a frown while the sightless wears a grin,
Both of these guys are close to me, I consider them as friends,
If A could walk in B’s shoes for one day, a new life would begin.

Why the ungrateful 'A' has 20/20 vision is one of life’s mysteries,
All who read this poem pray in agreement for, Ronald “B” Menifee,
Thank You Father in heaven, who alone rules & sits on the throne,
For presenting crystal clear eyes to Ron, before calling him home.

This is the believer’s request that he is dealt a brand new hand,
It’s strange how the one with sight sees less than the blind man,
Only Christianity stops me from slapping A and saying, “Please! ”
I don’t like the sound of whine & I get stopped up eating cheese.
