Wait In Vain
you're a lover of convenience
who took away my heart ala pirate
hope you return for better experince
cos i'm hurt but can't feel irate
please help me not to wait in vain
i'm sitting here wishing for that day
when you appear from the woods or sea
i wonder what to you i would ever say
if i'll ever see that day i foresee
i hope i won't have to wait in vain
i think i'm about to let go
of all the thoughts of you i kept
from days in scool to long ago

Morgan’s Curse
Followin’ the trail on the old treasure map,
I came to the spot that said “Dig right here.”
And four feet down my spade struck wood
Just where the map said a chest would appear.
But carved in the side were written these words:
“A curse upon he who disturbs this gold.”
Signed, Morgan the Pirate, Scourge of the Seas.
I read these words and my blood ran cold.
So here I sit upon untold wealth
Tryin’ to figure which is worse:
How much do I need this gold?
And how much do I need this curse?

Childhood Dreams
White and fluffy, sailing through the sky
Images of our childhood dreams
A fiery dragon, a pirate ship
An angel with gossamer wings
Unicorns dancing, horses flying
Cotton candy, so sweet and fun
A shining Knight with damsel fair
Everything glistening under the sun
Butterflies emerging from their cocoons
Castles with towers high
A scary cat, a witch and broom
Images that float slowly by
Mickey Mouse with Daffy Duck
Memories of fanciful things
The love and joys of childhood

Out of your depth
Look… through the windowpane!
All in a streamline!
Sitting on top of the corporate world roof!
Differing from being on the road!
Chat…chat…chat…chat…chat!
The shape of modern mental is not speaking!
Eighty percent harshly lashed to rags! ’
Throw mind concert of silver sand,
a play of golf on a private jet!
With a tale on classified earth globe,

Money does not have colour!

Babies in society
Must defy constraints
Against liberty and happiness
And never accept harassment
Against the body or the soul.
Even Buddha children
In isolated mountain villages

The Secret
When you were sleeping on the sofa
I put my ear to your ear and listened
to the echo of your dreams.
That is the ocean I want to dive in,
merge with the bright fish,
plankton and pirate ships.
I walk up to people on the street that kind of look like you
and ask them the questions I would ask you.
Can we sit on a rooftop and watch stars dissolve into smoke
rising from a chimney?
Can I swing like Tarzan in the jungle of your breathing?
I don't wish I was in your arms,
I just wish I was peddling a bicycle
toward your arms.

Cabin Fever
Cabin Fever.
The firewood in the hearth hiss and smoke
refuse to burn bright, these limbs of a giant
will not heat my cabin this winter evening.
I must have done something wrong, don’t
know what. I have doused the flaccid limbs
with alcohol, drank some too, now the fire
is burning bright with an inner ice blue tint.
From the floor looking up I see the roof is
on fire. Someone knocks on my door, I’m
a pirate burning my ship, there is rum for
everyone; for the dreary I’ve diet coke and
for the loony there is low fat yogurt.

Waxes And Wanes
Never realised how disastrous it would be
to wear a T shirt with Guess written large
on it, combined with my pirate jeans and
bandy-legged boots I was Che Guevarra
himself, not a good look
Realising it's full moon on 5 April it made
sense, while the moon waxes and wanes
my life changes and not in a good way -
Big Bro becomes belligerent; 8000 years
standing still as politicians dither
Playing charades calling it human rights &
respect without meaning it, felt better when
I changed my T shirt, being Che does not
feel good at all…

Late Night
Late Night
The woods in the fireplace is glowing embers,
promise nothing but an ending. In a yard a dog
bark to hear its loneliness, I tell it to stop it hears
me, curls up and goes to sleep. I take a safety pin
thread its needle end through my ear lobe and
I do the same with the other ear.
The blood is white like water, painless and
impartial. I look in the mirror and see nothing
that looks like a pirate. No escape from boredom
and I remove the pins. The dog’s wakes from its
slumber, barks. My ears hear Nirvana’s echo
rippling on the shores of eternity.
