Quotes about retrace, page 11
To George, Earl Delwarr
Oh! yes, I will own we were dear to each other;
The friendships of childhood, though fleeting are true;
The love which you felt was the love of a brother,
Nor less the affection I cherish'd for you.
But Friendship can vary her gentle dominion;
The attachment of years in a moment expires:
Like Love, too, she moves on a swift-waving pinion,
But glows not, like Love, with unquenchable fires.
Full oft have we wander'd through Ida together,
And blest were the scenes of our youth, I allow:
In the spring of our life, how serene is the weather!
But winter's rude tempests are gathering now.
No more with affection shall memory blending,
The wonted delights of our childhood retrace:
When pride steels the bosom, the heart is unbending,
And what would be Justice appears a disgrace.

What Lies Beneath?
From pulp to palpitation cycles spin.
Some trace a line or two, leaves from life's tree
imprint upon collective memory -
the music of the spheres, a melody
transcending time itself and its oubli,
provide emotions and tonality
which, although evanescent, all would win,
to find oasis of serenity, -
cool shade not shadow of humanity, -
amidst the desert of incessant din
of universal static all would flee.
The flotsam of time's bark one need not pin
down too precisely. Much dexterity
excludes from fields of vision feelings free
which life enrich with spice we sense, not see, -
like perfume on the winds of change to key
ambiance of death or dance, chance we
must find to take, create to breathe, as in
a trance we dream we age by Fate's decree....

Not Part Of My Job Description
I am not trying to make sense.
Or find a place where it is common.
I've traveled those avenues before.
Today I have distanced myself from the search.
And those explanations about lost connections...
With an admitted obligation,
To sacrifice one's time...
In a devoted commitment to help mend,
Those of broken misunderstandings?
That is not my mission.
I deliver messages,
That's it.
Wasting time sitting to convince...
Is not part of my job description.
When were those understandings broken?
And who did not comprehend an existing split?
I would think,

Lag
Lag, lag, lag.
All I want to do
is relax and make
myself acquainted
with my new friends
by shooting
them in the
head with a Spartan
laser, but
lag, lag, lag.
Time cuts, I retrace my steps
involuntarily, a jerking
motion pulls me back three
seconds ago, flipping over
myself— I snap
here. Wait.
Why am I here?
Why did I edge myself

On A Distant View Of The Village And School Of The Harrow Hill
Oh! mihi præteritos referat si Jupiter annos.~Virgil
Ye scenes of my childhood, whose lov'd recollection
Embitters the present, compar'd with the past;
Where science first dawn'd on the powers of reflection,
And friendships were form'd, too romantic to last;
Where fancy, yet, joys to retrace the resemblance
Of comrades, in friendship and mischief allied;
How welcome to me your ne'er fading remembrance,
Which rests in the bosom, though hope is deny'd
!Again I revisit the hills where we sported,
The streams where we swam, and the fields where we fought;
The school where, loud warn'd by the bell, we resorted,
To pore o'er the precepts by Pedagogues taught.
Again I behold where for hours I have ponder'd,
As reclining, at eve, on yon tombstone I lay;
Or round the steep brow of the churchyard I wander'd,

Sublime Smiling Face
SUBLIME SMILING FACE
(Inspired by Lisa Casagrande)
Written by: Wilfred Mellers, (Deh Bagwa Shashmani Swami) , Tuesday, October 27,2009, @ 11: 00 AM
Through the daily monotony and rat race
There’s nothing more alluring than the smile on your face
From my memories you I cannot erase
Your smile is like a cozy affectionate embrace
Your flawlessness cannot be replaced
So gorgeous your eye-catching smile should’ve been showcased

A go back
I shall say good luck
Do not come but go back
Before night sets
And birds return to nest
The sun has blazed all the way
I was tired throughout out the day
I could find no refuge
The ordeal seemed to me very huge
How long the coolness may remain
It may prove hollow and cause pain
Sea may calm down with blue water
Only some noise from ship's hooter
I need some rest
It is enduring test
How to retrace and come back?
There is slight pain in neck

All the night
It has rained all the night
I was proving very right
There was not going to be any light
Not a little movement even far not in sight
The icy winds blow with tremendous speed
Making more dreadful sound and warning to heed
It will be heavy in few more hours
Everything has to be bolted from inside doors
It may be inaccessible from outside and frozen
It may represent white land with look so barren
Sending some isolator views to creep in mind
I was for sure not to see her around or find
She too was proving difficult like snow
As hard as stone but with sun shines to glow
Giving different impression of being inaccessible
I was in deep love and trying to be accessible

Gentleman Coward
I felt pain in heart when turned down her proposal
It was not out right dismissal or disposal
Yet it firmly indicated that I was not her man
She had told number of times that she wanted to be my woman
She gazed at ground at stood silently
She did not reply but heard me patiently
She thought for a second and shook my hand
No problem dear “we can still stay as friend’
I don’t know how much I had hurt her
But certainly it was no good news either
She had banked on me heavily
And now I told her to accept it hurriedly
She tried to look in my eyes but got no clue
Her face tried to look in my eyes and view
I remained stone faced and took no note
As I had already put a hole in her boat
